The Holidays in Aspen Snowmass with the Whole Family: Where to Stay and How to Plan It

Planning the holidays in Aspen Snowmass with the whole family? Our local team shares how to choose the right vacation rental and plan a holiday week everyone loves.
Picture the first morning of your holiday trip in Snowmass Village or downtown Aspen. Snow on the deck, coffee on, the kids already in their ski socks, and the whole family under one roof for the first time all year. The holidays in Aspen Snowmass are the weeks we love helping families plan the most, and after more than thirty years in this valley, we've learned that a great holiday trip starts with the right home. Where should a big family stay in Snowmass for the holidays? Where should newlyweds stay to celebrate a memorable new year?
The secret to a great holiday trip here isn't really the skiing, it's the vacation rental you come home to. When everyone stays together, the holiday happens in the moments in between: breakfast that turns into a two-hour conversation, the hot tub after the last run, a big dinner where nobody has to drive back to a hotel, a cozy night by the fireplace. That's why the first thing we ask when someone calls about the holidays is who's coming. Grandparents who'd love a bedroom on the main floor, teenagers who want their own space, the cousin who's happiest at the stove. Then we think about how you'll get around. Some of our homes in Snowmass Village and Aspen are steps from the slopes, and others sit right on the free shuttle route, so nobody spends the morning hunting for parking. Once we know the people and the pace you like, finding the right home is the easy part.
What is there to do in Aspen Snowmass over the holidays? By mid-December all four mountains are open, so first-timers and experts both have somewhere to go. Not everyone has to ski, either. A sightseeing ticket takes non-skiers up the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass or the Silver Queen Gondola in Aspen to meet the skiers for lunch at the top. Afternoons are made for wandering Snowmass Base Village with a hot chocolate, browsing the shops in downtown Aspen, or curling up by the fire with a good book. And if your trip runs through New Year's, you're in for a treat. On New Year's Eve, skiers carry glowing torches down Fanny Hill in Snowmass before a fireworks display, and you can watch from the Snowmass Mall with the kids bundled up beside you. It's the kind of moment families talk about for years!
Whichever week you choose, our local team takes care of the rest. Before you arrive, one of us walks through your home room by room to make sure everything is exactly right, and we're just a phone call or a text away all week, whether you need a dinner recommendation or an extra blanket. If the holidays in Aspen Snowmass are on your list this year, give us a call or send us a note with your dates and who's coming. We'd love to help you find the home where your family makes its best memories! The iTrip Aspen Snowmass Team (888) 653-1025 | aspensnowmass@itrip.net
